Proprietary algorithm for "G" force analysis

The SoSafe app constantly monitors various smartphone parameters, including acceleration, deceleration, and “G” forces. When the algorithm detects values indicating a potential accident, it immediately activates emergency procedures.

Collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Milan for scientific validation

The Fabrico algorithm, developed for SoSafe, underwent rigorous testing at the Transport Safety Laboratory of the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology at the Polytechnic University of Milan. This collaboration certified the scientific foundations and proper functioning of the algorithm, ensuring reliable detection of accidents based on “G” forces.

Design and development of a showcase website

Design and development of a responsive showcase website for SoSafe Digital, built on the WordPress platform. The site employs a vertical scroll navigation logic, typical of “One Page Sites,” to present the product in an innovative and engaging way. The main objective is to offer a smooth and interactive user experience, allowing the audience to easily explore the content and gather interested leads through targeted call-to-actions.

Technological challenges

The development of the app involved managing a series of technical complexities due to its operation on multiple devices and operating systems, with very different behaviors between the app running in the foreground, in the background, and especially when it is completely terminated. This last scenario represented the greatest challenge, as it requires continuous monitoring even when the app is not active. To achieve this goal, it was necessary to design dedicated solutions for each app state, leveraging system-specific mechanisms for each platform.
Another particularly complex aspect was the control of false positives, meaning avoiding situations in which movements unrelated to driving are interpreted as potential accidents. This required the development of analysis logic capable of distinguishing actual vehicle use from situations such as walking, insignificant sudden braking, phone shaking, or accidental vibrations. Defining these thresholds and the corresponding behavior patterns was one of the most delicate parts of the entire project, essential for ensuring a reliable activation of the shock-detection algorithm.
